The development history behind the NCG sensors
Do you have questions about SolidToo, interested in a quotation, the NCG sensor or the technology behind it?
‘SolidToo’ has been found due to the long-standing collaboration between Prof. dr. ir. Klaas Kopinga and Dr. ir. Joost van Doornmalen. Prof. dr. Kopinga has over 40 years of experience as an experimental physicist, while Dr. van Doornmalen has been a specialist in steam sterilization for more than 30 years. About 10 years ago they developed a physical model that could calculate steam penetration in instruments with narrow channels. This model was later expanded so that it could also describe the transport of mixtures of steam and air in other situations. With the help of this model, the NCG-400 sensor was developed. After building several prototypes and making improvements, the first NCG-400 sensors were put into production in 2019.
The sensor is already in use at various healthcare institutions and the number of users is growing every week. Specialists from the Catharina Hospital wrote a report on the New method of parametric release for steam sterilization.
